This song really tells its story for itself. Driving by the Madison Dairy Produce Co. building on East Washington Ave, seeing the parked wrecking crew, and that building being torn down being a part of the high rises that would soon be all over that street. Many more buildings followed, often occupied seemingly by people with money but no interest in seeing the shows or helping the artistic culture develop around it. It also has been recently brought to our attention that maybe the "co." in the name stood for "co-op" and not "company." Well, we wrote it the way we wrote it and aren't changing it now. MDCP is usually how we refer to it anyways. This recording is the second of two takes and was one of the easiest for us to complete.
lyrics
By the time you hear this song
The building will be gone
But I'm driving by right now
And it's still there
With a parked wrecking crew
Another music venue
Another high rise fall
Another piece of us lost now
Are we gonna lose it all
If there's time to right this wrong
There's a chance to still move on
There's a reason to react
There's a reason to ask
When's it gonna be over
For them and for me
Who's gonna come out on top
And who's gonna take a knee.... OUT
