The guts of this songs were written on the same day that Empty Room was demoed. It started as an emphatic support of Irish Goodbyes which sometimes just feels like the right way to leave a party or social situation. The song is both about connection and disconnection from others and how both are acceptable, riding the wave of what makes you feel right in your somewhat own private eye of the universe, but ultimately, in the end that we all share energy and experiences.
lyrics
I'm so sick of thinking
I’m supposed to say something
On my way out
I'm so sick of feeling
There's always one right feeling
I never feel
Just when I thought I had it all figured out
New figures danced my way and turned me around
Suns will set, you gotta let the slaughters be
Moon will rise and then you'll know it's time to leave
I'm so sick of working
Everybody tells me that
Everything works out, it'll all work out
In the end, don't let me begin
I'll pause on Sultan
4:30's in jeopardy
Back to dire straits
Just when I thought I had it all figured out
New figures danced my way and turned me around
Suns will set, you gotta let the slaughters be
Moon will rise and then you'll know it's time to leave
I'm so sick of feeling
There's always one right feeling
I never feel
I'm so sick of thinking
I'm supposed to say something
On my way out
