A song that truly found benefit in the long wait between recording and mixing. Initially, there were only chorus lyrics, the song meant to be mostly instrumental to close out "Side A." As time went on, it felt like there was an opportunity to say more. Shortly before the release of the Co-Alone single in 2022, it was clear that it was important and appropriate to comment on societal restrictions and where we all find common ground. It's ok to feel alone sometimes, but so many of us have and can feel that. While loneliness has its own properties, we're never truly alone. We're "Co-alone." Alone with all of the other lonely people.
lyrics
Eye for eye
We've both got two
Give one up and we'll see through
Realize we're all one
Love and hate
Roses and guns
Don't shut your mouth
Don't shut your mouth
Don't shut your mouth you fool
You're alone
But co-alone and
You're on no hill
Double up to thicker sludge
Nightmares dreams are unmade of
Governments draining seas
Hands-off grip on our bodies
There's a light, but
You've got right to
Sink your hopes
Don't feel alone
We're co-alone
Falling through the same stage tonight
