A re-recording of a Sky Urchin track that appeared on our second EP (only available on bandcamp). This song has a long instrumental bridge that seems to delight anytime we've played an outdoor summer festival. It's just good vibes. If you like Grateful Dead, you'll like that section. If you hate Grateful Dead, you might still like that section. The song itself, especially in the front 1/3 is about inspiration of people much older than yourself. Sore Toe is a play on Sarto. Gloria Sarto was a leader in Women's Rights, Abortion Rights and OB/GYN education at UW-Madison. Robert was on a video team that filmed her for a UW documentary and got to know her. Even at 83, she was interested in what his Rock band was doing and what concepts were important to him as an artist. It was hugely influential to have "some old lady" care about Rock music. Age is just a number. Hopefully anyone reading this rocks on FOREVER!
lyrics
Channeling
Me at seventeen
At 83
You inspire me
To be me
And nothing that could
Ever be
A false sense of freedom
And you are there
And so am I
Joe knows to flow
Joe knows to fly
I see him on the stacks
Tells me I’m on track
As I turn away
And walk on my own
Don’t pass the time on your own
There’s more of you than you could know
